Smartforms upgrades include a combination of new functionality and technical improvements.

New releases ordinarily occur every fortnight, although essential 'hot fixes' may be applied more frequently. Many major new features and upgrades take more than two weeks to plan, develop and test prior to release so these are noted in our 'coming soon' section.

This article outlines the changes implemented on 29th June, 2022.

Number Question Types

Minimum and Maximum Values

When building an Op with a Number Question Type, Admins can set a minimum and maximum number allowed. This allows Admins to have greater control over the entered data.

These fields

• Support negative and positive values
• Support whole numbers and decimals
• If user-entered value is outside of range, then a warning message is displayed

Precision Values

Admins can also set the numeric precision against a numeric field, so that they can have more control over the accuracy of data entered. Entering a number in this field sets the maximum number of decimal places allowed to be entered in the question response.

This value

• Works along side min and max values
• Maximum number for 20 decimal places is supported
• Minimum value is 0 – Forces whole numbers only to be entered.
• Without any precision set, a user can enter a decimal place value
• Users are blocked from entering more than the set limit of decimal places when completing an Op

Date/Time Question Type

Allows the Admin to prevent a future date from being entered so that they can ensure an accurate Date/Time is captured. The date is based on the specific point in time that the Op is being completed.

Staff Picker Question Type

Allows the Admin to chose which Users are shown/hidden in the dropdown by selecting a Team or Position and then choosing ‘All staff within X’.

Asset Workflows

This feature allows Admins to have an Op triggered on a schedule against items included in the Asset list.

For example:

On the 30^th of every month, assign the Maintenance Check to the Senior Manager to complete for the Asset it is associated to.
