Configuring User Types
Who is this article for?Administrators who manage different access levels for users.
Primary Adminpermissions are required.
Smartforms offers three different User Types, each with its own access rights. This article explains the level of permissions associated with each Type.
1. User Types
To view User Types:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Users.
- Switch to the "Staff" tab.
The three permission sets available are:
- Staff - Basic access to Ops and Issues. Assigned to all Users by default.
- Place Admin - Access to manage Ops and Issues and to Analytics (Reports). Limited to the Places the Admin is assigned to.
- Primary Admin - Access to manage the Organisation. This includes all features, including Organisation settings and billing.
2. User Type Permissions
Below is a graphic showing what level of access each Type offers.
Unsure how this affects Web Admins?
All Web app Admins use the same credentials to log into the Native app for the purpose of performing Ops.
3. Upgrading Staff to Admin
To promote someone to Admin:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Users.
- Open up the person's record.
- Click the Invite... button for the desired permission level.
- Ask the User to follow the instructions to sign up to the Web app.
