All Staff needing to review the hardware specifications to run Smartforms.

This article describes the minimum hardware and software required to use the Smartforms platform.

The article is split into four sections:

1. Supported Versions of Smartforms
2. Smartforms WebApp (for Admins)
3. Smartforms NativeApp & Teamboard

1. Supported Mobile Platforms

On mobile devices, Ideagen will support Smartforms on the latest major OS release and the previous OS release available from the OS providers (Google and Apple).

We therefore recommend keeping your devices up to date. You can check your device via the links below:

• Check & update your Android version.

• Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Important Note: In some instances, Smartforms may work on older versions of the OS however this is not guaranteed and bugs found to be limited to older OS versions will not be addressed.

2. Smartforms Web App (for Admins)

Our Web App has been optimised to run on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (available for Mac, Windows, Linux and Chrome OS).

Whenever you use our web app, you will always be using the latest release, so there will never be an Smartforms Web App update required. We always recommend updating your browser to the latest version available as this contains all of the latest fixes, performance and security enhancements.

Reminder: If you experience problems with our Web App on other browsers, we recommend trying on the latest version of Google Chrome before contacting Support.

3. Smartforms Native app & TeamBoard

It is essential that you have the latest app version installed (see how to check the version number). For this reason, we recommend turning on automatic updates in the App Store.

Our Native app runs on devices with iOS and Android (from Google Play Store) and can be downloaded from the respective App Stores.

Similar to the advice above, we officially support the latest major software releases and their immediately preceding version on both iOS and Android - and we recommend that you always have the latest OS (operating system) updates installed on your device.

Notes:

• Past generations of phones and tablets may not be able to upgrade to the latest versions of iOS as Android as these are often phased out for support. Unfortunately, this makes it impossible for us to provide support for these devices too.
• It is also important to note that Huawei devices do not have the Google Play store, and therefore you will not be able to download Smartforms.

The Smartforms app supports the following minimum specifications:

• Android OS (minimum: 5.0+, recommended: 11)

• iOS (minimum: iOS 11, recommended: iOS 15)

• Storage (minimum: 16 GB, recommended: 32 GB)

• RAM (minimum: 2GB, recommended: 3GB)

• Connectivity (WiFi/GSM/CDMA)

• Rear Camera (minimum: 6MP, recommended: 8MP) - if using pictures

• GPS (recommended) - if tracking op submission location
